About

Sunbelt United is a football team made up of mainly expats who play football
in Bangkok, Thailand. We have several teams, we have a team that plays in
Division 1 of the MBMG International League (aka Casuals League), which is
Thailand’s largest adult amateur expat 11 a-side football league. Most games
are played at Bangkok Patana School but there are some games at Arsenal
Soccer School and a game or two in Pattaya at Horseshoe Point when we play
Pattaya City away.

We are an aging squad and some of us play in the Bangkok Veterans League
also where we have a strong team that has won several trophies in Bangkok as
well as Pattaya and Phuket tournaments.

The Bangkok Veterans League is a 35 and over league and is a good level
of football and is growing in numbers month after month. Games are played
generally at the City Ground or Harrow School, but there are also one off
tournaments at Patana school where the likes of Ian Rush, Clive Walker,
Lee Sharpe play in an All Stars team which we were unlucky to lose to in the
final last year on penalties. We won the overall title in Bangkok last year,
which shows good consistency despite only winning the monthly tournament
once. We also won the inaugural Pattaya Masters 7s tournament and also the
Phuket Masters 7s in November 2009.

We also have a team that played in the Bangkok 7s league played at S One
where we finished a credible 7th out of 16 teams.
